LONDON & Just Beyond My NYC Return

Here are some reviews of the West End (London)
show, PERSONALS, a comedy by the creators &
writers of TV's FRIENDS along with music by
multiple Academy Award winners, Alan Menken &
Stephen Schwartz (Beauty and the Beast, The
Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Little Shop of Horrors,
Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas, Prince of
Egypt, Godspell & Pippin) and I'm sure you should
know the song performed by The Rembrandts, the
FRIENDS theme song, I'll Be There For You,
written by Michael Skloff ...

PERSONALS, Sam, Apollo Theatre, London

The boyish charms of Marcus Allen Cooper are
enough to set any heart aflutter
•THEATREWORLD INTERNET MAGAZINE

Marcus Allen Cooper - easy on the eye and ear
•Nicholas de Jongh, EVENING STANDARD

Other highlights include… Marcus Allen Cooper
and … as nervous lonely neighbors who find
themselves on a blind date together
•Charles Spencer, THE DAILY TELEGRAPH

"Marcus Allen Cooper impresses in the number
Moving In With Linda."
•Lisa Martland, THE STAGE

My favorite line is spoken by (Marcus Allen
Cooper) [as] a Jewish mother to her picky
unmarried daughter…
•Georgina Brown, MAIL ON SUNDAY
-------------------------------------------------------

When I first came back to NYC, I had an opportunity
to play a role that so fits into the range of parts
that I'd already done AND I couldn't pass up a
chance to perform SHE LOVES ME as Georg Nowack...

[In Georg whose soul mostly glitters on paper,
Marcus Allen Cooper skillfully crafted the
enigmatic Clark Kent-type role of our hero.]
•Clark Gesner (writer of You're A Good Man
Charlie Brown), BROOKLYN HEIGHTS PRESS

Marcus Allen Cooper as Georg Nowack is
convincing both as the arrogant co-worker
and the besotted swain. And he gives a
rousing rendition of "She Loves Me"
•Paulanne Simmons, THE BROOKLYN PAPERS

There were a couple OTHER London Productions
that stand out in my mind including a Tour-de-force
role in a Neil Simon/Burt Bacharach collaboration
based on the Billy Wilder (Sunset Boulevard, Some
Like It Hot) film, The Apartment, that starred Shirley
MacLaine as Fran & Jack Lemmon as Chuck Baxter

PROMISES PROMISES as Chuck Baxter
@ The Bridewell Theatre, London

Marcus Allen Cooper plays Chuck – in
a star performance of great charm.
•Michael Darvell, WHAT’S ON

Marcus Allen Cooper puts in a
thoroughly wholesome performance.
•Patrick Marmion, TIME OUT [London]

Marcus Allen Cooper who gives us a
spirited and charming performance.
•Aline Waites, PLAYS & PLAYERS

A charming performance from Marcus Allen Cooper.
•Bill Hagerty, NEWS OF THE WORLD

Cooper has sweet bounce to him.
•Kate Bassett, THE TIMES

THEN I got to play a definitive Stephen Sondheim
role where I play the lead character from the
ages 19 - 39 years...

MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG, Franklin Shepard,
@ The Greenwich Playhouse, London

[Along with the few tender moments afforded his
character], Marcus Allen Cooper certainly captures
the arrogant air of Shepard
•Lisa Martland, THE STAGE

The three old friends are beautifully performed by
Marcus Allen Cooper, Marc Joseph and Tracy Wiles
•Baz Bamingboye, DAILY MAIL

Marcus Allen Cooper, Marc Joseph, and Tracy Wiles
are all well cast as Frank, Charlie and Mary. They
sing with skill and assurance and perform with a
level of accomplishment that transcends.
•Darryl McCarthy, KENTISH TIMES

Artwork used for our Original London Production of PERSONALS and then used for the only available Cast Recording. I'm the guy in the middle, A Night Alone, one of my offbeat songs from the show should be playing from the player in the upper left corner of this page & there's a link to the iTunes page for the show down below...

THIS is the odd artwork that was chosen
for the out-of-town & West End run...
I preferred the cartoon on the left!!

Yeah, kind of cool... On a lake at Interlochen Arts Academy, Michigan. I think this is for the yearbook & WAS taken in the Autumn of my senior year of high
school (17 years old). That surprises most people as they think I looked older then, than I do now... it's a nice thought!

This is me holding up a wall (Late 2010):
